Version 2026-07-28.v6
Child Safety Standards
She Chooses is designed exclusively for adults aged 18 and above who are looking for a serious life partner. We do not permit minors to register, participate, or appear anywhere in our product. This page describes our commitments and practices to prevent Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation (CSAE) and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) on our platform.
Zero-tolerance commitment
She Chooses has zero tolerance for CSAM, child grooming, or any form of child sexual abuse or exploitation. Any content, communication, or behaviour of that nature is grounds for immediate account termination, permanent device ban, and reporting to the relevant Indian and international authorities.
How we prevent minors from entering the platform
- Age gate at signup. Every new user must enter their date of birth. Users under 18 are refused registration; the age check is not skippable.
- Video-call verification. Before any user is invited to consider an event, a member of our team conducts a short video verification call. The reviewer confirms the person on the call matches the profile photo, and verifies visible age indicators. Any user who appears under 18 or whose age cannot be confirmed to be 18+ is rejected.
- Face photo requirement. The single photo on each profile is used by admins during verification; it is never shown to other users in the app. This ensures the photo is on record for verification and any subsequent safety review.
- Admin rejection is unconditional. Our admin team can and does reject applicants at their discretion — including for suspected age misrepresentation, incomplete verification, or any signal of risk to safety.
What content and behaviour is prohibited
- Any depiction, description, or discussion of CSAM
- Grooming, solicitation, or approach of a minor for any purpose
- Sharing links to CSAM or platforms known to host it
- Impersonation of a minor
- Requesting or offering to meet a minor
In-app reporting — one tap from every profile
Every user profile in She Chooses has a Report or block flow accessible with a single tap. Reporting categories include child safety concerns, harassment, impersonation, fake profile, and abuse. Reports reach our moderation team immediately and are reviewed within 24 hours per our published Content Moderation SOP.
Reporting a user also blocks them from you across the entire product — they can no longer appear in your browse pool, and you cannot appear in theirs.
Content moderation — 24-hour response commitment
Our moderation team reviews every report within 24 hours of receipt. Reports concerning child safety are triaged with highest priority and typically actioned within 4 hours during business hours. Actions available to the moderator include:
- Immediate account suspension pending investigation
- Permanent ban of the user and their device
- Removal of any content
- Escalation to law-enforcement and reporting to authorities (see below)
- Preservation of evidence for legal proceedings
Reporting to authorities
Where CSAE or CSAM is identified, we report to the appropriate authority without delay:
- India (National Crime Records Bureau): We file a First Information Report at the nearest police station and use the cybercrime.gov.in reporting portal under the Ministry of Home Affairs. Reports concerning children are filed under POCSO Act 2012 §19.
- International (NCMEC CyberTipline): For content of possible international origin, we report to the U.S. National Center for Missing & Exploited Children CyberTipline.
- Google Play: We comply with Google Play's Child Safety Standards Policy and cooperate with Google's own review process.
Compliance framework
- Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012, Government of India — the primary Indian statute against child sexual offences, including its 2019 amendment covering child pornography
- Information Technology Act 2000 §67B, criminalising publishing or transmitting material depicting children in sexually explicit acts
- Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 — grievance handling, takedown timelines, and reporting duties
- Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA) — data protection framework, including the child-related sections that prohibit tracking or targeted advertising toward children
- Google Play CSAE Standards Policy, which this page fulfils
